1. GOKSEL
with her new album "arka bahcem" she had topped
all other turkish singers i like. GOKSEL (or GÖKSEL)
is one of the most independent musician in the turkish popmusic-culture,
she combines in an individual way oriental style with modern
instruments and sounds. she is in her 20s and composes and
writes all of her music on her own. people who like her music
will also like the music of nil karaibrahimgil ;-)
2.
BJORK
one of my many favourites of Bjork is "joga". i
still can listen to this song for hours. her unbelievable
great voice and non-imitatable musicstyle will stay unique.
3.
NO DOUBT
their song "don't speak" still touches me very much.
gwen's voice is full of emotions while listening to this love
song (with the background knowledge that she has written the
song when she broke up with one of the band members).
she looks very beautiful in that videoclip, barefoot singing
with her big brown sweet eyes. she is also one of my favourites
best looking female besides aishwarya rai (an actress from
india, mostly seen in bollywood-movies).
4.
MOLOKO
MOLOKO's music is mostly very experimental (for my taste)
and i am not a big fan of their album songs, but the songs
they put out as singles like "the time is now" is
fantastic. electronical-pop i would say, using acoustic instruments
and violins in it, all combined to an interesting and very
soundful song. as i said, their singles are "easier"
to listen to as the rest of their album songs. enough for
me to put them to my favourites.
5.
STINA NORDENSTAM
i heard her song "little star" the 1st time in the
movie "romeo & juliet"
from baz luhrman. it was just 30 seconds or less in the movie
to hear, but that took so much my interest that i tried to
find out who the singer is and what the song is. STINA has
a voice like it could broke down like glass, very smooth and
this song "little star" has a silence in it which
makes me feel so comfortable and relaxed while listening to
it. her complete albums are worth to hear, if people like
her style.
